My Office at The Commonwealth Ctr

This photo was taken in the early 80s at the then Commonwealth Centre, Corner Spring and La Trobe Streets, Melbourne.  We were in the office situated on the second floor in the Link between the old and new blocks of the building.  The whole building was pulled down because at the time of construction the builders used asbestos material  and it was classified as dangerous to people's health.

Day of Celebration and Devotion at Bulla

A healthy number of people attended the San Rocco celebration at the Calabria Club, Bulla on 20 October  2013, there were some 550 people who attended the Mass and also the Procession.  It was a great day of tradition for especially the people from Acquaro where San Rocco was the town's Patron Saint. 

San Rocco Festival

This is a photo of the San Rocco Statue during the Procession on the outside of the Calabria Club Buildings at Bulla.  Behind the statue their was the band playing traditional tunes, the followed the people who came to spend the day at the Festival.  It was a very nice day except fot the wind.  There were about 550 people who attended and they seemed to have enjoyed the occasion.  

Dinner Dance

We were at the bar having a drink before dinner started.  We had a round each of whiskey and then we went to sit down to dinner.  Because we had three whiskeys each, I made sure that I did not drink any more during the evening, I had to drive back home at the end of the night. 
It was a wonderful night.  Dinner was fantastic, it was prepared on the premises by the ladies of the sub committee.  The music was very good with Joe Brancatella and Matteo.  I danced all night with my wife and really enjoyed the whole evening.

Here are two beautiful young women who live in Europe and in Italy.  They were both born in Acquaro, Province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria.  I am proud to be associated with them.

Acquaro Limpidi Club Anniversary

On 14 July 2012 we celebrated the Acquaro-Limpidi Club Anniversary.  There were some 220 people in attendance and all had a wonderful time.  A three course meal dinner was served and we all danced to the music of Joe Brancatella.   It was indeed a great night.

Wednesday Lunch

Yesterday, Wednesday went to lunch at the local club.  It was a nice setup and I met some new people.  At our table were sitting Mr Frank and Mrs Connie Scalzo and we made one another known.  We chatted and found out that we had a lot in common.   Connie, the wife is originally from Soveria Mannelli, the town Lina, my wife was born and Frank, her husband was born in a small town close by.  I took some photos.  Here is one of them.

Great Night at the Southern Cross Hotel

This photo was taken at the Southern Cross Hotel in Bourke Street, Melbourne a long while ago.  It was a beautiful night in the company of a lovely girl, Nancy.  Nancy is sitting second from left and then it is me happily smiling.  The Hotel was relatively new but it has been pulled down since and another building was erected in its place.

This is the Creek Amello which runs in the middle of the town.  Even though in the warm weather of summer the creek has little water but in winter it runs very healthy.   When there are storms the creek can get very dangerous and often causes lots of damage.
